Holy Week


Holy Week is the annual commemoration in the Christian calendar that commemorates the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Therefore, it is a liturgical period of intense activity within the various Christian denominations. Begins Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday, although his conclusion is generally initiated in several places on the previous Friday (Friday of Sorrows) and is considered part of the same on Sunday.

Is preceded by Lent, which culminates in the Passion Week and gives way to a new liturgical period.

Easter celebrations have reminded themselves that the institution of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, the Crucifixion of Jesus and His death on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night to Sunday.

During Holy Week there are various examples of popular religion throughout the world, including processions and representations of the Passion.
